Piano Lessons

Whether you aspire to play Bach or Alicia Keys, Santee Music Academy’s dedicated piano instructors will help you become the pianist you want to be. Our faculty will introduce you to the fundamentals of sight reading, technique and theory, and incorporate your favorite songs into your lessons. You do not need a piano at home to take lessons; a simple full-size electronic keyboard will suffice for the first six months.

Explore any instrument at your pace

All of our lessons are completely customized for each individual student and are taught by qualified instructors, who teach all different styles of music. The majority if not all of our instructors are multi-instrumental, giving you the opportunity to explore multiple instruments at no extra cost if you wish!

Custom lessons for all ages

Music lessons are available seven days a week, in-studio or online, from early in the morning to late at night! Students have their own lesson day, time and instructor every week to keep your schedule and musical progress consistent. We bill month-to-month for the average of 4 lessons per month, so there is no long-term commitment.

Track your growth as a musician

We’re the only music school in San Diego with the Musical Ladder System! Younger kids get especially excited for the fun wristbands, trophies, and certificates that we award to students who pass their Musical Ladder Tests every three months. Students also receive their own Music Journals to keep track of their lesson plans and collect participation stickers, which can be redeemed for awesome prizes!

Unlimited make-ups & free workshops

No need to worry about missing a lesson, because we offer multiple make-up options that are never capped and never expire! We also run free monthly workshops, from instrument-specific group lessons for different age groups and experience levels, to more topical classes like songwriting or how to string a guitar. Current students are also eligible for promotions and discounts on group lessons.

Free events, recitals, and performances

We are one of the only music schools in Santee that offers free recitals with a grand Steinway piano in a first-class professional recital hall. Many of our students choose to perform in our biannual recitals, which are low-pressure for a fun and positive performance experience! We also organize several fun events for our students and their families throughout the year that are completely free.
